You’ll find many college access resources at UCanGo2.org. We do our best to spread the word about the benefits of higher education — whether it be at a college, university, career technology center, or trade school. We’d like to show you some of the resources parents can use to encourage their children to pursue education and training after high school.

From Cradle to College is an excellent resource for parents with very young children. We partnered with Smart Start® to include information about childhood development, learning, goal-setting, and ways to pay for college — all of which can help parents make college a reality for their kids.

UCanGo2 also provides activities for children in grades K-5 that will introduce them to the idea of college and what they might experience after high school graduation. Parents can find these instructional materials at UCanGo2.org/Publications.

In middle school, college planning involves enrolling in courses that provide students with the knowledge they need before taking college prep courses during high school. This also allows parents the opportunity to learn about college costs and how to make college more affordable. Is Your Child College Bound? is one of our many helpful college planning resources for parents and students. Check out our other middle school publications at UCanGo2.org.

Funding your student’s college education can be challenging. Be sure to have your child apply for scholarships. There are numerous scholarships available, and they don’t all require good grades. Many are based on hobbies, college major, community service, sports, and more. Check out our Scholarships 101 PowerPoint presentation to find links to scholarship websites as well as tools for tracking your awards and writing winning essays.
