Register for Online Pre-Arrival Session with ISSS on July 20
At 8:30 am ET on July 20, connect with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) staff via Zoom to hear details about arriving to campus and the in-person orientation program. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you have about pre-arrival preparations or arriving to campus.
Reminder that new international students should check in with ISSS between 8:45 to 9:00 am ET on Friday, August 12 at the Shriver Center to begin the in-person orientation program.
Students are encouraged to use the $35 discounted transportation service to campus offered by ISSS on August 11. International Peer Orientation Leaders (iPOLs) and ISSS staff will greet students at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at Cincinnati Airport (CVG) on the morning of August 11 and provide a charter bus to transport students and their luggage to campus.
International students can also reserve a discounted room ($129 + tax) at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cincinnati Airport for the night of August 10.
You can also reserve a room by phone, +1-859-371-6166. Please mention the Miami University rate and use code "MUO."
Submitting ID Photo and Other Pre-Arrival Tasks
Make sure to submit a photo for your Student ID Card. This will ensure that you can get your Miami ID Card when you first arrive to campus. Your Miami ID Card will provide access to your Residence Hall (if you are living on campus) and many other campus services (Dining, Libraries, Armstrong Student Center, and more).
Make sure you are also completing all the necessary tasks to prepare for your arrival and participation in orientation. Questions? Contact international@MiamiOH.edu.
Starting International Undergraduate Student Orientation Canvas site
Next week, you will receive an invitation to access an additional Canvas site. This Canvas site will contain modules on need-to-know information for international students related to U.S. Government Regulations, Financial Considerations, Campus Expectations and Policies, Health, Wellness, Safety and Security. There will also be a Discussion Board for you to connect with other new incoming international students.
At the end of the International Undergraduate Student Orientation online program, you will be asked to confirm your arrival plans by submitting information and documents to ISSS via our InterLink system. InterLink is an online platform that ISSS uses to manage international students’ information and documents and is the system for international students to submit requests to ISSS.
