Examining Case that Struck Down Interracial Marriage Ban
LLS and the California Supreme Court Historical Society will look at the California Supreme Court’s 1948 decision in Perez v. Sharp, which struck down the state’s ban on interracial marriage. The civil rights lawyer who successfully litigated this case is an LLS and LMU alumnus, Daniel Marshall '25 JD '26.
