Campus Safety

The health and safety of our students is of the utmost priority. We have provided them with a range of tools and resources as they embark on a new school year. The Clery Campus Safety video details NYU alerts, Clery campus notices, and safety advisories. Additionally, our Reporting and Incident webpage guides students to the various reporting mechanisms available at NYU in the case of an emergency. Reviewing our Navigating NYU and NYC Safely webinar is always a good place to go for information. Plus, the Wellness Exchange is a great mental health resource available to all students 24/7.

Solidifying Student Travel Plans For Academic Breaks

Many parents and families often wonder when they should book flights for their student’s return home during various academic breaks. Here are a few tips and things to keep in mind. It is helpful to review the NYU Academic Calendar in order to better understand key dates, including when classes are not in session. Students are given a class syllabus that outlines assignment and exam dates, all of which impact travel dates. If your student is unclear about exam or assignment dates, please encourage them to speak with their professor to seek further clarification.

How can I access important information to support my student?

Students can grant parents and/or family members access to view some information. Below are some options you may want to speak to your student about.

Electronic Suite — Financial account information for tuition statements, account balances, and electronic payments towards a student's account balance.
Dining and Campus Cash — Make deposits to Campus Cash or Dining Dollars, or view account information.
Student Health-Related Information — The Student Health Center must obtain your student's written authorization before using or disclosing personal health information unless there is a serious or imminent threat to the health and safety of the student or others.
