Nashville Business Court Has One Year Anniversary
The Nashville Business Journal checked in on the Tennessee Supreme Court’s business litigation pilot project and gave an update: A year later, it has proved to be a success. As of the end of March, 57 Davidson County cases had asked to transfer to the business court. The project will eventually be expanded across Tennessee.
Haslam Receives Nominees for Davidson County Chancery Court
On June 14 the Trial Court Vacancy Commission sent Gov. Bill Haslam three nominees for consideration for the upcoming Chancery Court vacancy in the 20th Judicial District, which serves Davidson County. The opening is due to Chancellor Carol McCoy’s retirement. 
Honoring Nashville Lawyer
Attorney Joel Henry Moseley, Sr. passed away on June 18, and a memorial service was held Saturday, June 25 at the Spring Hill Funeral Home in Madison. Moseley was born in Nashville and began his career in law after graduating from Vanderbilt University Law School. Moseley worked in private practice with his wife starting in the 1970s. Attorneys for Indigent Representation Sought by AOC
The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is looking for attorneys interested in representing indigent persons for various cases, including involuntary emergency judicial hospitalization. With existing programs in Shelby and Williamson counties, the AOC is seeking contracts with attorneys in Blount, Davidson, Hamilton, Hardeman and Wilson counties to perform these services. NBA Survey Shows Support for Justices
A majority of the more than 500 Nashville Bar Association (NBA) members surveyed supported the retention of Tennessee Supreme Court Justices Holly Kirby, Jeffrey S. Bivins and Roger A. Page, according to recent poll results. The poll also showed a strong lead for Matt Sweeney for the position of Chancellor, Part II, in Davidson County.
