Happy summer, Loggers! ☀️

This newsletter is one way we communicate MarCom's successes and new offerings to our campus community, but today I also write to share a leadership change. Last week was my last at Puget Sound as I head to a new and unexpected opportunity in California. The great team in place will continue under the leadership of Rebecca Harrison ’01, Associate Vice President for University Relations, who will serve in an interim capacity as the search begins for my replacement, chaired by Abbie Lacsina, Associate Vice President for Constituent Relations.
During this interim, please continue to submit project requests via Lytho for any work you'd like MarCom to help with. Requests will now go directly to the staff member responsible for the work rather than routing through me centrally, so use the Comments field in your Lytho request to follow up with any questions. More complex requests with multiple projects will go through Barbara Weist, Web Manager and project manager extraordinaire, for setup.
I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of you and the amazing Puget Sound community, and I hope our paths will cross again in the future!
To the heights!

A familiar face at the helm of Arches |
For the first time in its 50-year history, an alum will serve as the editor of Puget Sound's alumni magazine!
This summer, Lisa Kozleski ’94 will start taking over the role of editor from Tina Hay, who is looking forward to having more time in retirement for her true passion, traveling around the world to photograph rare and exotic birds. While we're sad to see Tina go, we're grateful for her leadership, keen editorial eye, and for the solid foundation she leaves behind. Lisa and Tina will co-edit the Autumn 2024 issue of Arches, due out in late September.

To continuously improve the Puget Sound website, Marketing & Communications, Enrollment Marketing, and Technology Services have been working on website improvements since September 2023. This work also prioritizes re-focusing the site on our prospective student and family audiences to strengthen our enrollment.
Some of the items we'll be addressing include:
|
- Eliminating sitewide design inconsistencies
- Reducing spacing issues
- Enhancing search engine optimization
- Simplifying layout and navigation
- Consolidating duplicate and related pages
- Improving banner image resolution
|
These changes will roll out this August and September, and we can't wait for you to see the improvements!
Additionally, we're excited to announce that we've launched our new graduate student gateway, which provides a one-stop shop for grad students to find resources and important information. Gateways for our other campus groups will be completed this summer. If you have suggestions for content to include in the gateways, please submit a request through Lytho.

Have you ever wondered what font to use in a print piece or what exact shade of maroon is Puget Sound maroon? We've got you covered. Our updated brand book can help you navigate how to properly use the university logo, incorporate our mascot into your designs, create an email signature, and much more.
More brand goodness is coming to campus! Keep an eye out for the new Grizz wall in Wheelock and refreshed light pole banners soon.
