ArtCamp organizers announce speaker lineup

Inaugural event is a day of inspiration for artists and those who love the arts
Aug. 26, 2014 – NASHVILLE: 12th & Broad is pleased to announce the speaker lineup for ArtCamp Nashville at Nossi College of Art on Saturday, Sept. 6.
ArtCamp Nashville is a day-long series of inspiring talks, hands-on activity, community conversation and networking for artists (both fine and commercial), hobbyists, collectors and business people who serve the art community. We expect 200+ attendees in this inaugural ArtCamp.
Speakers for ArtCamp submitted session ideas via the ArtCampNashville website. A panel of community members, including representatives from the Arts and Business Council and 12th & Broad, selected the final roster. It includes esteemed local pros such as Beth Inglish, Audra Almond-Harvey, Sheri O’Neal and Kyle Baker.
In total, 28 speakers were selected to do sessions on topics ranging from “Insider Tools for Commercial Artists” to “Street Photography” to “Legal Basics for Creatives”. Click here to see the full list.
The 40-minute sessions will begin at 9:30 and run concurrently in groups of four through 4 p.m. Lunch, sponsored by Music City Pizza, is free. A full bar will be available throughout the event, with a happy hour session at the end of the day.
Mayor Karl Dean will address ArtCamp attendees during the lunch hour. Also on hand will be representatives from Ben Folds’ #SaveStudioA campaign who will speak at the session wrap-up, and business experts affiliated with the Arts & Business Council (including lawyers, accountants, etc.) will be hosting one-on-one conversations with attendees.
Hands-on, community creative projects will occur throughout the day.
Many thanks to everyone involved in this project, including Jacob Weiss from Playing By Air and particularly Joe Smith with ArtDude Creative whose idea for ArtCamp was based on the similarly-named community tech conferences, BarCamp and PodCamp.
Tickets for ArtCamp are just $10 for the entire day, and lunch will be provided.
To let others know you are going to ArtCamp, register on the ArtCampNashville.com site and share a bit about you and your work or business.
