   DECADE OF TRANSFORMATION
In case you missed the official notice, President Neal Smatresk announced his resignation as president of UNT after 10 years of serving the institution, effective Aug. 1.
“Reflecting on the past decade, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the remarkable journey we have undertaken together and appreciate how your engagement at UNT has helped us become nationally recognized, the fastest growing university in Texas, and a place where your dreams take flight,” President Smatresk says, who plans to focus on what he loves most — teaching and mentoring students.
Grammy award
   GRAMMY GRADS
The Grammys were good to UNT over the weekend! The 2024 Grammy Music Educator Award went to alum Annie Ray, a high school music teacher in Annandale, Virginia. Annie's husband, music alum Irving Ray, posted great behind-the-scenes photos on Facebook.
Rapper Lecrae won two awards, one for best contemporary Christian music album and the other for best contemporary Christian music performance/song.
