Library Programs at NES!

Goodness! What a success! As we start winding down before the fall break, we start gearing up for the next session of Crazy 8's at Nederland Elementary, running Dec. 1 though Feb. 2 (there's a winter break in the middle there). Because this program has been so popular, we'll have to register students on a first come, first served basis. Please visit nedlib.org for more information and registration. We ARE working with the school to add another program for the older kiddos so stay tuned!!
In-Person
Storytimes!
Best for ages 0-2
Wednesdays, 10 - 11 am
As children acquire language skills and concepts, we strive to incorporate those skills and concepts into many fun topics and socially supportive lessons. While we do want our children to be exposed to literacy topics and concepts, it is also very important to understand the developmental milestones our children meet. In addition, we provide time for free play and exploration. This is a holistic approach to educating children in a safe, fun and engaging environment.
Storytime for children ages 2 to 5 years.
Fridays, 10 - 11 am
This is a fun storytime based around the love of books and leisure. Designed for children who are able to hold focus on a story (at least for a bit!) we will hear some wonderful stories both classic and contemporary, usually outside, weather permitting. This storytime will include an activity or craft, depending on the theme and general capacity of the group. Think of it as a flex session in that we will be adapting to the group and addressing age appropriate skills, interests, and abilities.
