September 12 - The History of Wine
Speaker - Rich Schmidt
In 2011, Linfield University (then Linfield College) established the Oregon Wine History Archive (OWHA), which is committed to preserving and sharing the story of Oregon wine. With our mission to preserve all aspects and collect from all regions of the Oregon wine industry, we have a growing group of collections from winery owners, winemakers, grape-growers, marketers, enthusiasts and sommeliers.
DigitalCommons@Linfield provides an overview of the collection, as well as related exhibits and highlights from each wine grower or organization. Some items in these collections were initially digitized as part of the Oregon Wine History Project, a collaborative research venture from the Linfield Center for the Northwest.

Deadline Reminder for Spinoff
Just a reminder that doing the Spin-Off each week is a "team effort!" The "pre-production team" (currently Grace and Patric) assemble the basics on Monday, and hand it off to the "finalization team" (Deanna and Devon) on Tuesday, for publishing (if there are no last -minute changes) on Wednesday before the Thursday meeting!
So... if you REALLY want something in the upcoming Spinoff - be sure to have it to us by Mondays! Much appreciated!

Our International Support in Pictures!
Here are a few pictures showing some of the things we got from Rotary and sent through the containers. All these things were bagged and shared not only with the kids who live in and around our center, but also with kids in other villages. Thank you for making this possible!

The team that is volunteering to raise as much as $8,000 for the club, doing "Uncle Phil's" concession booth, is off and running! BUT, WE NEED MORE HELP! We need 12 volunteers for each date, and each shift runs about 4 hours (with every member earning $20 an hour for the club).
