Hispanic Heritage month started on 15 September, and runs through the 15th of October. It begins in the middle of the month to honor the September 15 independence declarations of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua in 1821, followed by Mexico on the 16th and Chile on the 18th.Â
