Recruit New Members for Your Team
As the year gets underway, so does student recruitment! Talk to your coach about how you can help expand team membership this year. Some ways to get involved include:
Sharing your speech and debate photos and memories on social to spread the word about the team.
Reaching out to teachers/student leadership of similar clubs whose students are likely to be interested, like political clubs, Model UN, mock trial, and theater.
- Bringing prospective members to team meetings.
- Working with teachers to go around to classes to make a quick pitch for joining speech and debate!
- Making or hanging recruitment posters around the school. Check out a set on our website.
-
Setting up a table at lunch or before/after school to talk to students about joining.
- Pitching the team during school announcements.
