Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) Ambassadors continue to provide a safe, welcoming and beautiful environment for visitors to enjoy and for businesses to thrive. DTP Ambassadors Assist Businesses and Visitors

Newly hired DTP Ambassador, Abby Grijalva is often seen popping in and out of downtown businesses sharing important business resources and marketing information. She also provides information to downtown visitors and helps direct them to their destinations. The photo above shows Abby inside of HeeMee Coffee + Bakery distributing flyers for an upcoming event. Abby is one of 20 DTP Clean & Safe Ambassadors caring for downtown.

Bigbelly Trash Compactors Get Deep Cleaning

DTP Ambassadors maintain several trash receptacles throughout downtown, including 28 Bigbelly solar-powered trash compactors. These Bigbelly units recently received a deep cleaning and detailed inspection. Benefits of the Bigbelly units include increased capacity, reduced collections & costs, smart technology, no visible waste, no pests, total containment, and a cleaner safer public space.

De-escalation Training For Downtown Businesses

Tucson Police Department in partnership with the DTP is offering a free De-escalation Training for downtown businesses and their employees on Tuesday, May 16 from 2-4 p.m. at the Fox Tucson Theatre (17 W. El Presidio Fountain Being Restored

A $600,000 restoration project of the historic El Presidio Fountain is currently underway thanks to the City of Tucson. The fountain was originally constructed between 1970 and 1971 in El Presidio Park (165 W. Alameda Street) and was designed by architect Michael A. Lugo, Jr. and artist Charles Clement. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of August.

Dine and Shop at Old Town Artisans

Old Town Artisans, located in the Historic El Presidio District, contains several diverse businesses including a record store, Native handmade goods, local art, a tattoo parlor and more! Nestled in this space is LaCo Tucson where you can enjoy delicious food and drinks on a cozy patio that features live local music. Across the street, find handmade pasta & bread from CERES. Around the corner, grab a delicious beverage from the new Dandelion Cafe & Bakery. Washington Streatery, located between Meyer and Court Avenues, is closed off to cars and provides a unique outdoor seating area for these local businesses.

Soul Food Wednesdays at the Playground

Blax Friday is a community partnership driven to empower and uplift Black businesses locally. On Wednesday, April 26, come support "Soul Food Wednesdays," at the Playground. Learn more about this event here.

Tequila Ocho Agave Heritage Dinner

In partnership with Tucson’s Agave Heritage Festival, The Coronet is hosting a special five-course dinner on Friday, April 28 featuring Tequila Ocho. The dinner includes a creative pairing menu, a guided tasting, and live music! Get your tickets for this exciting dinner here.
