Project Management Practical Training

Are you interested in learning about project management? Perhaps you are looking for a starting point to gain the knowledge and skills needed to successfully initiate, plan, execute, monitor & close projects at UC San Diego

A blended learning project management program that incorporates online learning, live discussion sessions, social learning, mentorship, and project work to prepare the next wave of project managers at UC San Diego is being offered by the UC San Diego Business Excellence Community of Practice (BECOP), UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies, and UC San Diego Campus and Health Human Resources.

PMPT Program Volunteers

Mentor
Are you employed by UC San Diego and work as a project manager (by career or in practice), certified PMP or have a Lean Six Sigma Black or Green Belt?The Project Management Practical Training (PMPT) program provides a pool of mentors to participants. Mentors from the pool volunteer to discuss the participant’s question and provide insights based on their own project management experience. The time commitment is very minimal and very flexible based on your availability during the 4-month Summer course.

Save the Date (Again): Process Palooza Now March 29, 2023

Plan to Join Us on the UC San Diego Campus Each March!

We have big news, Process Palooza enthusiasts! We’re rescheduling the next Process Palooza from November 15-16, 2022, to March 29, 2023. The change was made with many considerations in mind. The upshot is, we’ve secured space at UC San Diego’s Price Center, which affords us the “big tent” type of atmosphere we want to create, with plenty of room for The Great Innovate, keynote sessions, networking and breakouts all in a centralized location. Additionally, as the space is reserved for multiple years, for planning purposes you can always count on Process Palooza being sometime the last two weeks of March.

Join us every month to hear about the great continuous improvement work happening across UC San Diego Health. This event is scheduled on the last non-holiday Friday of each month from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Join our distribution list and receive a calendar invite. You may watch recordings of perviousl events on Pulse (Health).
