A collaborative workshop geared at building a timeline of milestones for a well-prepared and well-informed Staff Performance Appraisal (SPA) season. Although the focus is for HR contacts and similar roles, everyone is encouraged to participate for a variety of input from all perspectives.

Continuous improvement is at the heart of the Enterprise Systems Renewal (ESR) program, and Process Palooza is open to all. Registration is free for UC San Diego employees.
This year's event is on campus March 28 and 29, with training and meet ups on March 28, followed by the main event and lots of activities on March 29.

| Process Palooza Volunteer Opportunities! |
Would you like to contribute at Process Palooza? The planning committee are seeking volunteers to assist in the following areas:

- UCSD Project Recognition Lead – This person will coordinate the events poster sessions, an important aspect at Process Palooza. They will handle the logistics of coordinating with UCSD staff to represent their great project work in poster form.

Activities Lead – Would you like to get creative? The activities lead will connect and engage the attendees in a FUN and meaningful way. To begin, this person will oversee a Raffle, an Expo Passport – and other creative activities!
- Pavilion/Expo Lead – The big ballroom in price center will be used as a hub for exhibits, posters, food, red carpet, and engaging activities. The team is seeking a leader to coordinate these activities.

Volunteers get a limited-edition Palooza t-shirt and other goodies, as well as the satisfaction of knowing they contributed to the continuous improvement growth at UC San Diego! Project Management Practical Training Program (PMPT) |
The PMPT program is the product of a UC San Diego partnership between the Business Excellence Community of Practice (BECOP), Extended Studies, and Campus & Health Human Resources.
|
Are you interested in learning about project management and its application at UC San Diego? Perhaps you are looking for a starting point to gain the knowledge and skills needed to eventually obtain a Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification or enroll in advanced project management courses through UCSD Extended Studies?
PMPT is a blended learning program, incorporating online learning, live discussion sessions, social learning and mentorship, plus project work to prepare the next wave of project managers at UCSD. You will learn the entire project management process, pick up useful techniques, and network with staff that are passionate about project management.

- Obtain supervisor approval, if work hours are used to participate in program
- Commit to an estimated 24 hours for the program:
- 11 hours for self-paced online learning
- 6 hours for SME-led live sessions
- 2 hours for Project Presentations
- 4 hours (estimate) for project work
- 1 hour (estimate) for social learning (Canvas and Mentorship)
- Complete the following:
- All self-paced eCourses in the UC Learning Center
- Attendance and participation in the live discussion sessions
- Participation in the Canvas discussion on a regular basis
- Submission of a project and presentation

- Kick Off Session: Welcome; program introduction; Business Case
- Discussion Session 1: Project Charter; Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Discussion Session 2: Resource Loaded Schedule; Preliminary Budget; Risk Register, Communication Management Plan
- Project Presentations: Brief project presentations, closing remarks and next steps

The current session will be listed in the UC Learning Center. Registration has already closed for the Winter 2023 session, but plan ahead for the Summer Session!

| PMPT Volunteer Opportunity! |
Would you like to contribute to the PMPT program? Currently seeking volunteers to assist with Zoom breakout rooms during the 4 Winter sessions!
|

|
Description: There are four PMPT training sessions per cohort. The PMPT Breakout Room Volunteer assists with setting up pre-established groups into assigned breakout rooms during one or more selected training session. No project management expertise is required. No breakout room facilitation is required.
Time Commitment: 2 hours
Dates Needed: Tuesdays from 2-4pm; February 7, March 14, April 18 and May 16
Task Training: Provided as needed prior to the scheduled session
