We need you!
Volunteers are needed to share their Project Management experience
Are you employed by UC San Diego and work as a project manager, by career or in practice, who is willing to volunteer and share your knowledge? Whether you are a certified PMP or have a Lean Six Sigma Black or Green Belt, we are looking for Mentors and Facilitators for the 2nd cohort of Project Management Practical Training (PMPT).
Mentor
The PMPT makes a pool of mentors available to the cohort during their coursework. Participants submit a request for mentor assistance which is then offered to the mentor pool. One Mentor will claim each ask and reach out to the participant to discuss and answer their question and provide insights based on their own project management experience! The optional time commitment during the August to November course is flexible and minimal, and there is no required obligation to claim a request.
Facilitator
The PMPT includes four zoom sessions. Three of the sessions will be led by a unique two-person facilitator team to guide the core discussion based on the scheduled topics and provided materials. Facilitators share topic-related personal experiences to engage the cohort and present insight to actual UC San Diego scenarios. The total time commitment is approximately 4-5 hours (1-2 hours of preparation, a brief tech check and the 2-hour session). Facilitators are selected based on topic experience match and calendar availability. Current needs are for the August 18, 2-4pm session covering PM Intro/Overview and the October 20, 2-4pm session covering Resource-loaded Schedule, Budget (very brief), Risk Register & Communication Plan.
If you are interested in being a PMPT Mentor or Facilitator, please contact Loralyn Cross, lkcross@health.ucsd.edu, by July 28th, or shortly thereafter.
