Students attending Mean Green Spring Fling
   HAPPY 2024, EAGLES!
We hope you’ve enjoyed your Winter Break, and we can’t wait to start Spring 2024 next week!
If you have questions or need directions on the first two class days, Week of Welcome volunteers can help. On Tuesday, Jan. 16, tables and volunteers will be inside the University Union entrances on the first, second and third levels; the Sage Hall Atrium; and the Business Leadership Building Atrium. On Wednesday, Jan. 17, volunteers will be in information tents outside those buildings and in Lot 20. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Volunteers also will be at the indoor Discovery Park location from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. both days.
Explore student life and learn more about your UNT community as you celebrate the new semester at the annual Mean Green Spring Fling from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, in University Union 314 and 333. Remember to bring your student ID!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
   MLK JR. DAY
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., born on Jan. 15, 1929, is most known for his monumental work with the American Civil Rights Movement — including his famous “I Have a Dream” speech. MLK Jr. Day, a U.S. federal holiday since 1986, is observed every third Monday in January to honor Dr. King’s life and legacy.
UNT will be closed Monday, Jan. 15, to commemorate the holiday.
Community members are invited to the city of Denton’s MLK Jr. Day Celebration, from 3 to 6 p.m. Jan. 15 at the MLK Rec Center. Attend the program and enjoy light refreshments as you learn more about Dr. King’s work.
