New ‘Top Docs’ episode addresses diversity, inclusion and equity
The latest edition of the Medical Association of Georgia’s (MAG) ‘Top Docs’ show addresses ways to advance diversity, inclusion and equity within the medical profession and the overall health care system – and it features Lattisha Bilbrew, M.D., a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Resurgens Orthopaedics and a member of MAG’s Task Force on Diversity.
Dr. Bilbrew discusses…
– How she defines diversity and inclusion
– The difference between equality and equity
– How can medical practices can become more diverse and effect sustainable change
– What individuals can do to promote diversity
– The need for “open dialogue”
– “Intentional onboarding” programs
– “Purposeful sponsorship”
Dr. Bilbrew cares for patients at Resurgens’ locations in Decatur and Snellville. She is affiliated with Eastside Medical Center, Emory Dekalb Hospital, and Gwinnett Medical Center. Dr. Bilbrew has a medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, she completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and she completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity at the University of Florida Hospital in Gainesville.
