Have students review the video "Dust Buddies" as a class or large group and use the organizer to examine how it relates to the title, characters, plot, point of view, and more. Talk through their answers, then watch the second video "Runaway" and have them work in small groups to answer the same questions. This work prepares them to complete their own theme statement outline for their cutting.

This content is excerpted from Lesson 4 of the Start Here: Teaching Interp collection. The material includes a list of example themes, activities, and instruction to introduce them to theme in cutting.
