If you don't already have an authentication app such as Okta Verify on your smartphone, you will need to download one in order to authenticate sign-ins to your ND accounts.

Why? Because authenticating with a phone call or an SMS text will soon no longer be an option. If you cannot download an authenticator app because you don’t have a smartphone, you will need a physical Yubikey or use another option in order to sign into your ND accounts.

As mentioned in the email sent to you last month, big changes are coming to how we store data.

Starting June 2026, users with more than 5TB stored in Google, Microsoft and Box (until it is retired in 2027) will be charged for excess storage.

And in June 2027, Box will be retired—files will be deleted automatically.

Now’s the time to clean house. Stay ahead of the change and delete what you don’t need.

Integrating the Respondus LockDown Browser with a Canvas test enhances exam security by preventing students from accessing external websites, chats, or other computer applications during a test.

The software is available in computer classrooms or can be downloaded directly to students' personal devices. Before using Respondus, it is recommended for faculty to review the extra considerations for its use. 

NEW FEATURE! Schedule Google Chat Messages

Now you can schedule messages in Chat to send at a later time or date. This feature allows you to be respectful of colleagues' time and avoid sending messages when recipients might be in a different time zone or unavailable.

Improvements to Secondary Calendar Ownership & Management

Google redefined what a secondary calendar is and improved its features. A secondary calendar is now any calendar that you create or a group calendar that is shared with you.

Whoever creates it becomes the owner. When a new secondary calendar is created, the creator becomes the calendar owner. The calendar will inherit the organizational policies from its owner—allowing admins to define policies for each calendar. It also allows the ability to transfer ownership if the owner changes teams or leaves the organization.
