Tadini Bacigalupi Program of Distinction Award

Victim Assistance Program of Summit County was presented with the Tadini Bacigalupi Program of Distinction Award at the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) 43rd Annual Conference in San Diego, California on August 16, 2017. This award is presented each year to recognize one outstanding victim service program that demonstrates excellence in innovation of service, longevity of the program, quality of services and use of volunteers.


This award was established in honor of Tadini Bacigalupi who was one of the founding members of the NOVA Board. Mr. Bacigalupi was a lawyer in San Francisco who devoted much of his later life to promoting volunteer programs in criminal justice and helping to ensure the success of the National Organization for Victim Assistance.  One of his last major efforts in NOVA was to establish this award before he died in 1981. 


Since 1972, Victim Assistance Program has been helping residents of Summit County address the aftermath of their victimization - from crime scene to recovery. Vicitm Assistance provides services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure every victim of homicide, assault, robbery, human trafficking, home explosion, traffic fatality, suicide, etc. has somone to lean on during their road to recovery.
