Dear ECELP Families,
In additional to our accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children, we also undergo annual state assessment using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS). Each month, our teachers video themselves teaching and self-evaluate their practice using the CLASS tool. Our Associate Directors are charged with providing instructional coaching and provide feedback on each teacher's video. We encourage our teachers to engage in professional development and would like to congratulate Ursula Pursley and Emily DuBoulay for passing their CLASS reliability certification.
We are truly fortunate to have such dedicated teachers, teaching assistants and administrators. During the uncertainty of the last two years, our faculty and staff have worked hard to educate your children and keep them safe. If you would like to drop a line of thanks to a teacher or staff member, click here for the email directory.
Best,
Cyndi

Quarantine Guidelines

Many have reached out with questions regarding quarantine. We have reached out to the Louisiana Office of Public Health for guidance; their response is below.
Because reinfections do happen and at an unpredictable rate, there is no current specific guidance from LDH regarding any alternative quarantine for those persons who have already been infected with COVID-19. At this time, we are recommending the standard quarantine guidelines.

For children who are in the early childhood education setting (generally < 2 years old, not yet eligible for COVID-19 vaccination and unable to wear a mask consistently):

Quarantine can end after Day 10 without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring.

At this time, testing supplies are limited so the full 10-day quarantine is advised, regardless of prior infection status.

Here are the full CDC for child care guidance and quarantine guidelines.
