Hello Parents, Students and Staff,

This 2022-23 year has been amazing and we are excited to see what next year brings. We want to thank everyone for all of their support and making the year a success. We were able to fulfill wonderful teacher grants and provide hospitality at many WHS hosted events. Our Staff Appreciation lunches were huge successes and, our personal favorites - being able to award the Golden Acorn and Golden Apple awards was very special. Thanks again and have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing everyone in a few months!
Co-PTA Presidents
Shannon Dias and Francine Sullivan
From Membership:
144 members this year, and we thank each of you for joining.  Next year we hope to get more members because involvement doesn't necessarily mean volunteering, but it does mean support for all WHS students and staff!  Our members also automatically become WSPTA members, which continues to advocate and lobby for our students in Olympia.  See you in the fall!

From Fundraising:
Our fundraising effort exceeded the plan!  We’re looking forward to this fall’s Pass the Hat event, during Curriculum Night, when we hope to ‘Hit it out of the Park’ with our annual fundraising effort. Thank you!

From the Staff Appreciation Committee:
We hosted a Coffee Cart, the New Year’s Grab and Go breakfast bar, and a Valentine's Day treat bar.  We also provided for 4 luncheons - Soups and Salads, Thanksgiving, BBQ, and Fiesta, none of which would've been possible without the donations from the community.  Thank you so much!

From the Grant Chair:
We are happy to share some of this year's funded grants.  Teachers and staff were granted over $10,000 for things like Raku pottery supplies and Night of the Arts funds; book buying, Women of Influence funds, and support for the Journalism conference;  a pumpkin patch field trip for Ms. Smith's students;  supporting Parent Education topics like Mental Health;  covering the cost of a subscription for the speech teacher's students;  and supporting the counselors for Apps and Snacks as well as other costs.  All this and more were funded by our community and we couldn't be more proud and grateful.  Thank you!

From the Volunteer Coordinator:
Our small but mighty army of parent volunteers continues to show up and help behind the scenes at many events, including at Falcon Days back in August, the Curriculum Night held in September, and for many end of year events including the Senior Awards Night, Senior Breakfast, and helping to distribute donated burritos to all graduating seniors on the day of their graduation before the ceremony!  Volunteering helps make those connections to the school and we thank you so much for your service!!

From the Communications Chair:
We've ramped up our social media presence as a means to spread the word about events and more, so be sure to follow us on Facebook (WoodinvilleHSPTSA) and Instagram (@woodinvilleptsa), and as always, please see our website (woodinvillehighschoolptsa.org) for all the updated information!

Reduced or Waived Fees 2022-23

Available by logging into ParentVue and completing the steps in the Student Information Updates module

***Step-by-step instructions on how to submit the consent form in ParentVUE can be found in .pdf HERE.  An electronic step-by-step guide is also available on the district website.***

Please note: Part of the process when completing the consent form is families will first verify their information (address, phone, emergency contacts, etc.). The Consent form will appear after the race and preferred language questions. Parents/Guardians need to go through each page and verify information before reaching the consent form. The ParentVUE app on cell phones looks nearly identical to the computer version of ParentVUE for completing the online consent form.

If you qualify for free or reduced price meals, also apply for reduced or waived extra-curricular school fees pursuant to House Bill 1660 (that you may be eligible for) by completing that section of the Student Information Updates in ParentVue* on or after August 15 (see House Bill 1660 details below).

Completing the fee waiver form in ParentVUE* will allow your student's free and reduced status to be shared with those administering extra-curricular activities at our school or within the district, thus being able to waive or reduce certain fees.

Consent must be given each school year and does not carry forward from last school year. Instructions on how to submit the consent form in ParentVUE can be found on the district website.

Once the Consent is submitted through the Student Information Updates portal in ParentVUE, it takes a minimum of 24 hours for the waived fees to show up in TouchBase.

Visit the District website to learn how to apply for free or reduced price meals.
