» No Pain No Gain: It's a big week for Little Big Town. Just four days after being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, the group released their latest album Pain Killer (10/21). "I just hope people love it as much as we do," says LBT's Karen Fairchild. "When we started it was a painful process ... I don't know why. It was a good process. It just wasn't as easy as the other one." Fellow member Phillip Sweet agrees. "We had to put in the time and the work and the effort," he says. "It's always good, and it makes you appreciate it on the other side a lot. I'm with her. I just hope people love it and embrace it because I feel really good about it. Winning awards and having commercial success with Tornado, I think, gave us a bigger platform. So we wanted to step up to the challenge and know there’s a great platform here, what are we going to put on it? And we wanted something to stand the test of time."

» No Treble: There are a few surprise additions to the performers list for The 48th Annual CMA Awards: Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor will join Little Big Town and Miranda Lambert, respectively, for duets. No word on which song Grande will do with LBT, but Trainor's own "All About That Bass" will be what she sings with Miranda. It's maybe not too surprising to see Trainor on the show, since she wrote "DJ Tonight" and "I Like The Sound of That" on Rascal Flatts' current album Rewind. Lucy Hale as been added as a presenter, too. The awards will air live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena Nov. 5 on ABC-TV.

» Out Of The Woods: You can take Taylor Swift out of country, but you can't take country out of ... you get the idea. "Country music teaches you to work," Swift says in the upcoming Esquire. "You hear stories about these artists who show up four hours late to a photo shoot, and in Nashville that doesn't happen. In Nashville, if you go four hours late to a photo shoot, everyone leaves. In Nashville, if you don't care about radio and being kind to people who are being good to you ... It's a symbiotic relationship, and if you don't take care of it, they won't take care of you. I've never been more proud to have come from a community that's so rooted in songwriting, so rooted in hard work and in treating people well. It was the best kind of training." Swift is profiled in the November issue, out this week.

» Pinterest Pals: Being on the road promoting their new single "Girl in a Country Song" keeps new duo Maddie & Tae quite busy. But in those rare moments offstage when they find minute to themselves, both girls admit they spend a lot of time on Pinterest. "I pin a lot of home décor stuff that I wish I could make that I really can't," says Maddie, "like a bunch of DIY stuff that I wish I could do but I never have time. That, and I love pinning recipes that I never get around to cook, but I still love it." The girls may be Pinterest addicts, but apparently fans enjoy pinning about "Girl In A Country Song" too!

» Play It Again, Tim: Years from now, country fans will reminisce about the albums they listened to on repeat – and chances are, Tim McGraw's name will come up. McGraw himself can recall the favorite albums he grew up listening to. "Probably my favorite, I remember playing Alabama," he says. "Of course I played it over and over and over again. But Rush's Moving Pictures was an album that I just completely wore out." Want to see McGraw live and in person? Check out his tour dates.

» Tour Talk: Jason Aldean will continue his Burn It Down Tour into 2015 with 23 more dates and two new guests, Cole Swindell and Tyler Farr. The second leg of the tour will kick off Feb. 12 in Greenville, SC. More dates here.

Alan Jackson opens his 25th Anniversary Keepin' It Country Tour Jan. 8 in Fort Myers. Dates are planned through May, with Jon Pardi and Brandy Clark in support. See the full itinerary here.

» Chronicle: Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Nashville songwriter and recent Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Paul Craft who passed away Saturday (10/18) at age 76 after suffering from deteriorating health for several years. Craft moved to Nashville in 1975 and within the year had two country songs nominated for Grammy Awards: "Hank Williams, You Wrote My Life," and ''Dropkick Me, Jesus (Through the Goalposts of Life)." Throughout his career Craft penned songs for artists including Ray Stevens ("It's Me Again, Margaret"), Mark Chesnutt ("Brother Jukebox") and John Anderson ("His and Hers"). More info here.

» In Case You Missed It: Florida Georgia Line were the subject of CMT Instant Jam on Saturday (10/18). The performance was taped recently at Nashville's Exit/In. Watch here.

Raelynn appeared on HLN-TV's HLN Now Friday (10/17) for a chat with host Yasmine Vossoughian that covered her fans, crushes, mentors and more. See that and hear more about her single "God Made Girls" here.

» The Show Must Go On: Dustin Lynch proves he's as indestructible as James Bond on his t-shirt during a show last weekend (10/17) in Niceville, FL at MulletFest. When an audience member threw an unopened beer can at Lynch, which cut his face and caused bleeding, Lynch finished the concert and later went to a local emergency room to be stitched up. Supportive fan Taylor Boisjolie tweeted this photo of Lynch's bloody selfie, saying "So sorry, Niceville really does have good people."
