Dear Cub Family,

I hope you all are enjoying a safe and enjoyable summer. My first two weeks as Director at University Laboratory School have been both full and fulfilling.

I am enjoying getting to know and to learn about our Cub family, our extended CHSE and LSU family, and the Baton Rouge community. The ULS administrative team and I have also been hard at work preparing for the 2021-2022 academic and co-curricular school year and beyond.

One thing you will all soon learn about me is that I am a firm believer in the adage “Failure to plan is planning to fail.” Attached you will find a 100-Day Director’s Plan that includes goals and specific actions that I have set for myself to accomplish during my first 100 days as your head of school and that I would now like to share with you. The title of the plan is “Listen, Learn, Lead,” and you are an integral part of all three components.

I invite you to read my 100-Day plan and track my progress on the Director’s page of the ULS website, where beginning next week you will also have access to links that will allow you to quickly and easily share input, ideas, and any information that you want me to know.

At the end of my first 100 days, I will compile and review all data so that we may begin the shared process of creating short-term and long-term strategic plans for our school.

As partners in education, I look forward to working with each and every one of you to ensure the legacy of our school and and the values through which it thrives continue well beyond its second century of service and for generations of Cubs to come.

Sincerely,

Kevin George
