The “Flushable” Myth

It’s no secret that wipes have become an essential item in many households. They’re marketed as a convenient tool for cleaning and personal hygiene, often labeled “flushable” to suggest easy disposal.

But the reality is much more complicated—and costly.

What is a Dishwasher High Drain Loop?

A high loop stops waste water from going back into your dishwasher.  Without it, your dishwasher might have unwanted water in the bottom. 

It is recommended that the discharge end of the drain hose is attached to the vertical sink drain pipe right before the P-trap (never on or after the P-trap).  

If you have a garbage disposal...
It is not recommended that the drain hose be terminated at any garbage disposal. Otherwise, when the disposal is turned on, it could act like a pump and send dirty water back to your dishwasher.
