Arts Advocacy Day - Registration Now Open
Thursday, February 13, 2020
Arts Advocacy Day is the one day each year that arts advocates, organization leaders, and patrons come together to speak with our Nebraska legislators about the importance of supporting the arts and arts education in our state.
We will kick off activities in the Warner Chamber, across the Rotunda from Legislative Chamber.

The event starts with an opportunity to learn advocacy techniques, receive issue briefs from current senators, and chances to meet with your state senator.
Next, we move to The Foundry for several presentations and training sessions:
Noon - Lunch & Networking with your Collegues
1:00pm - Arts and Community Development
2:00pm - Promoting Your Art: Digital Tools
Nebraska Legislature in Session - Creative Districts, Arts Licensing Plate Bills Introduced
The Nebraska Legislature is now in session. We are working on several issues to enhance the arts in Nebraska.
LB943 was introduced by Senator Megan Hunt. This bill gives the Nebraska Arts Council authorization to develop a creative districts plan and set up a grantmaking program.
LB942, also introduced by Senator Hunt, creates a "Support the Arts" license plate, with part of the speciality license plate fee going into a fund to support the creative districts grants program.
If you have an interest in advocating for these bills, please contact Doug at doug@nebraskansforthearts.org or (402) 595-2125.
