Working and Studying From Home. COVID-19 grade change deadline.

Changes to grading due to COVID-19

The deadline for you to change your classes to the credit/no-credit option is this Friday, April 10. You will then have until Friday, April 17 to revoke the credit/no-credit option if you decide to change your mind, and want a traditional letter grade.

How to Make Working and Studying from Home Better for You

While our lives seemingly changed overnight, we have a few tips for CSBS students to better adjust to this new (but temporary) normal. If you are taking an online course, or telecommuting for work for the first time, these tips will help you stay productive and balanced.

  • Create a dedicated workspace. Pick a specific place to focus on studying and working, which will make it easier to stay on task and separate school, work, and leisure time.
  • Keep a daily schedule. For example, check Canvas every morning and write down everything you need to do for that day.
  • Take a break. Take a walk to your local park (while keeping 6 feet of distance from others), take a short drive, or play with your pet.
  • Talk to friends. Just because you can’t meet up doesn’t mean you can’t message or video chat with your friends and classmates.
  • Stay positive. Take a few moments every day to recognize the good things in your life.

Make Appointments and Chat With CSBS Undergraduate Advisors Online

At this time, undergraduate Advisors in CSBS are continuing to be available to you through phone and video appointments. You can also contact an advisor directly via email – though this may not replace the need for a full appointment.

How you can help: U of U students are collecting masks, gloves, and more

If you want to help others during the coronavirus pandemic, donate medical supplies for frontline health care workers. A group of student volunteers from the University of Utah School of Medicine is arranging drop-off sites where people can donate personal protective equipment (PPE) — which is in short supply as the coronavirus spreads nationwide.
