We're excited to share that the Sensory Friendly Film Series is back for another season at the Carolina Theatre of Durham. Starting with "Rio," on Saturday, August 23, films will run through December, with the 2026 lineup to be announced at a later date.
Tickets are free and can be reserved in advance. Check out the Fall lineup below.
The film series provides a safe and welcoming movie-going experience for individuals on the autism spectrum and others in need of sensory accommodations.
The theater created this series in partnership with the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development. Staff members from the center share guidance on how to maintain a sensory-friendly experience for attendees, educate theater staff about autism, and provide kits with fidget toys, headphones, and more for patrons to use during the film.
