Pratt Delivers Workshop in Denver
|
Director of Student Success Jarrett Pratt recently presented at the 35th Annual National Independent Living Conference with the theme of “Growing Pains 2023” for adults and youth, hosted by the Daniel Memorial Institute. The must-attend event is geared towards youth service, independent living professionals, and youth aged 15 and up. His standing-room-only presentation explored the successes of the Sullivan-Deckard Scholarship program and its expansion to all CSU students with lived foster care experience. In nine years, the program has a 55% completion rate for degree programs and over 75 completed micro-credentials from continuing education.

CSU Alumna Ohio Recipient of Prestigious National Award
|
Marilyn Orseno (MA, 2014), a history teacher at North Royalton High School, has been named the 2023 Ohio recipient of National History Teacher of the Year.

Multicultural Women's Health Fair & Empowerment Expo
|
MetroHealth and the Vernon Family Foundation are hosting the first annual Multicultural Women’s Health Fair and Empowerment Expo on Saturday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland. Organized in response to chronic health inequities among women of color, this free event aims to support women from every background and stage of life to take charge of their health, well-being, and personal growth. Offerings will include health screenings, health education panels, a job fair, and a screening of “Below the Belt,” a PBS documentary about health inequality, as well as entertainment. Advance registration is encouraged.

Are you hungry for a deeper dialogue about the climate crisis and building community around solutions? All We Can Save is an anthology of writings by 60 women at the forefront of the climate movement who are harnessing truth, courage, and solutions to lead humanity forward.
