Settling into the Fall Semester |
As we settle into the Fall 2026 semester, the Office of Pre-Professional Mentoring and Advising (OPMA) prehealth team hopes you are finding your rhythm and building meaningful connections with peers, professors, and the campus community. We loved spending time on the Quad during Get On Board Day and seeing the energy and enthusiasm at our prehealth student organizations' tables.
If you're new to UA, we encourage you to reconnect with any organizations that caught your eye during Get On Board Day. Getting involved is a great way to meet others who share your goals, explore your interests, and start building your community here at The Capstone.
For students who've already completed a semester or more at UA, consider ways to deepen your involvement moving forward. Whether that's taking on a committee role, joining a special project, or stepping into a leadership opportunity within an organization, growing your engagement can help you build valuable skills, strengthen relationships, and enrich your prehealth journey.

📑 ShadowLog: A Simpler Way to Track Your Shadowing Hours |
If you've ever tried to remember exactly when you shadowed Dr. Jane Smith back in October or dug through old emails looking for a physician's contact information months later, you know how easy it is for shadowing hours to get messy. ShadowLog was built by a UA student who has been there: Lila Chamberlain, a neuroscience major. ShadowLog gives you one simple place to log your hours, providers, specialties, and notes as you go, making your application process smoother.
ShadowLog is now available on the App Store, with a rollout for the Google Play Store coming soon.
OPMA Prehealth is proud to collaborate with the ShadowLog app this school year. ShadowLog was designed by University of Alabama prehealth students.
