The Climate Trust Wants to Invest $5.5M this Year to Battle Climate Change
The Climate Trust is looking to deploy $5.5 million this year from an investment fund aimed at curbing climate change. The Portland nonprofit, which specializes in conservation financing, is seeking United States-based project proposals to produce carbon credits, including early-stage forestry, grassland conservation, and livestock projects.

Credit Suisse, host of a recent major conservation finance conference, just released a new report on the state of conservation finance. Building on its 2014 report, Credit Suisse and its partners International Union for the Conservation of Nature, Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the McKinsey Center for Business and the Environment set the stage for moving conservation finance from niche to mainstream by building an institutional asset class.
