Note from the Dean
Summer is a time for travel – last week, we held a NYC closing bell to bring alumni together and introduce our summer interns to the NYC network. Thank you to Eric Van Heyst for hosting a wonderful event and to Emily Dunn for all you did to make it a great success.

Remembering Professor Gary D. Scudder
An expert on new product development and strategic planning, Gary Scudder passed away on June 13 in Nashville at the age of 65. Scudder was a long-time professor at the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management.
Professor Scudder dedicated a significant amount of time and energy to service, at Vanderbilt and in his community. “Gary loved people and always had an open office door,” said Dean M. Eric Johnson. “Generations of students found him to be a ready ear, interested in their careers and life." Read more.

Attention, full-time MBA alumni from the classes of 2010, 2011, 2012: Bloomberg Businessweek alumni survey for rankings is live
The full-time MBA classes of 2010, 2011 and 2012 are invited to participate in a survey that helps determine rankings for Bloomberg Businessweek. Currently, we need 62 additional responses to complete the Vanderbilt Business survey. Bloomberg Businessweek requires 109 to include Vanderbilt in its rankings. If you filled out this survey in prior years, we invite you to do so again -- the survey has changed, and views can change. Bloomberg Businessweek wants to be as up-to-date and accurate as possible. Submit an EMBA Capstone Project Proposal

Alumni often comment that the hallmark of the EMBA program is the Capstone Strategy Project their C-Teams complete in Year 2. Executive sponsors of these projects frequently report impressive analysis from teams that lead them to make meaningful business decisions. If your company can benefit from some thoughtful fresh perspective, please submit a proposal for a domestic project for consideration. Questions? Contact Jon Lehman, jon.lehman@owen.vanderbilt.edu.
