Important Reminders
If you have not purchased a Miami airport bus ticket and reserved a hotel room at DoubleTree Hotel, please do so now. The discounted hotel rooms at DoubleTree Hotel will no longer available after 12pm EDT on Monday, July 29, 2019.
We STRONGLY recommend arriving to the Cincinnati Airport (CVG), staying at the discounted hotel, and then riding the Miami Airport Bus. This is the easiest arrival option and will help ensure a smooth and successful transition to campus.
Banking
On campus there are two banking options: PNC Bank and First Miami Student Credit Union. There are also many banks located in Oxford which you can search for online. When you open a bank account, you need to bring your:
  • Passport
  • I-20 or DS-2019
  • Local address in Oxford
  • Student ID card

We suggest you do not bring more than $500 cash with you to the United States. You will have the opportunity to open a bank account within your first few days on campus.
Billing
Unless you have registered for classes prior to arrival, you will be billed after you complete your registration during orientation. An email will be sent to your MiamiOH.edu email address. Payment is due by the first day of classes, August 26, 2019. Visit the payment page to access instructions for viewing your balance and making online, mail, or in-person payments.

Methods to pay:

1. International wire via Flywire
2. Electronic check (e-check; no additional fee) - visit our website for Helpful Hints Paying Your Bill by Check
3. Credit card (we do not recommend this due to the convenience fee that is charged)
4. Payment Plans that allow a semester’s bill to be paid over a period of three months (an enrollment fee will be charged)

Warning: Please be careful to pay tuition and fees only to Miami University. Outside agents and companies who state they are sending you a bill for Miami tuition and fees, and instruct you to pay the company directly, are fraudulent and should be reported to our office.

If you have questions about billing, please email OneStop@MiamiOH.edu.

Undergraduate Student iPOL Profiles
When you arrive at Miami University for international student orientation, you will have a designated iPOL to help you throughout orientation. Here are your iPOLs' profile:
"Hi everyone, my name is Cecelia Johanni! I'm from Cleveland Ohio and I'll be graduating in 2022. I'm studying Strategic Communication with a co-major of Global and Intercultural Studies. On campus I'm involved in Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed service fraternity. I chose to join this organization to meet people with similar interests and to engage in public service. My advice for international students would be to get involved with on campus groups! It's a great way to make friends and settle into life at Miami."

iPOL Huihsia Lu
"Hello there, my name is Huihsia Lu, I also go by Amy! I am a junior studying marketing in Farmer School of Business. I am an international student from Taiwan & Chongqing. Now I am currently involved in two organizations at school, which are CABO (China America Business Organization) and TSA (Taiwanese Student Association). I love Miami because it provides me so many opportunities to experience different cultures, professional academic environment, volunteering learnings, and other new adventures you could ever think! I love traveling and meeting new people, please feel free to talk to me if you are interested in my adventures in Miami/America, can't wait to get to know all of you too! Always cheer yourself up and don't stop trying new things, you are not alone! Welcome to Miami University!"
Profile Picture of iPOL Sana Saqib
"My name is Sana Saqib. I'm major in marketing and have Japanese and supply chain management as my minors. I'm half Chinese and half Pakistani, and I consider Shanghai, China as my Hometown. After the first semester of my freshman year, I found out some international students find it hard to fit into the campus society especially socialization with domestic students. I want to help them that I became an FSB mentor, and that's also why I applied for the iPOL position."

Next issue, we will be covering the following topics: Love & Honor - I am Miami,
ISSS Online Check-in, Documents to Bring to Campus, Customs Forms and Port of Entry, How to Contact ISSS, Arrival Reminders.
