World-renowned pianist Kong Xiangdong will address NYU Shanghai’s Class of 2025 — in words and in music — at the University’s 9th undergraduate graduation ceremony on May 25. Some 407 graduates from 46 countries and regions, along with their families and friends, will gather on the New Bund campus quad to witness this momentous occasion.

This spring, NYU Shanghai and NYU’s Silver School of Social Work are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the NYU Silver MSW Program at Shanghai and New York. On March 28, a special event was held to commemorate this milestone, which was hosted by the NYU Alumni Club in Shanghai with NYU Shanghai and NYU Silver.

The Sexual Respect Committee, a new student-led group working with NYU Shanghai’s Center for New Student Programs hopes to increase student access to sex education and Title IX resources, facilitate conversations about healthy relationships, and provide peer-to-peer support.

As a child, Xu Ziyun’s school vacations were spent birdwatching in natural reserves in China and Malaysia, sitting quietly on a rock for hours just to catch sight of rare species of birds. [Third Culture Kids] experience a 'loss' of their identity through a deconstruction process during their highly mobile childhood. Later, in their adulthood, to 'regain' a part of themselves that was lost, they reconstruct their identity in hopes of finding belonging and agency and reclaiming their psychological needs.”

An exhibition, “A Lifetime Engagement,” featuring photos Provost Joanna Waley-Cohen took as a young traveler during her 1973 trip to China, as well as pictures that capture her time at NYU Shanghai over the last decade, will be on display from Friday, April 18 through May 1 at the B2 Art Gallery.
