We’re excited to expand our reach with the downtown gift card program and share partner news about a tourism survey, small business grant opportunities, new events and much more.

Vacant Storefronts Receive Upgrade

The DTP is excited to introduce the Storefront Vinyl Program (SVP)! The SVP is a new storefront beautification and activation program featuring professionally designed vinyl displaying information on available commercial space, lease information, a downtown map, and/or a vision for the future use of each space. A special thank you to Rio Nuevo for funding the SVP.

To date, three vacant downtown storefronts have received window vinyl with more locations planned. See the before and afters of all three locations by clicking here.

The Little One and JA Ramen Accept Downtown Gift Card

The Little One at 151 N. Stone Avenue, and JA Ramen at 54 W. Congress Street, now accept the Downtown Tucson Gift Card! This physical gift card can be accepted at more than 50 local downtown businesses. Is your business participating? If so here's a reminder on how to accept the gift card.

Visit Tucson Resident Sentiment Survey

What are your opinions about tourism in Tucson and Pima County? Visit Tucson has created a resident sentiment survey for you to share your thoughts about tourism in the region. Complete the survey by clicking here.

Children's Museum Tucson Receives Grant

Children’s Museum Tucson has received a $200,000 Challenge Grant from the Connie Hillman Family Foundation, augmenting $400,000 in donations raised by the Museum, to help renovate the Museum’s new building at 130 S. Scott Avenue. The Challenge Grant matched a yearlong fundraising effort by the Museum to help kickstart a multiyear, $15 million capital campaign to expand the Museum and allow it to serve even more people in Southern Arizona.

“This expansion is possible with support from the whole community, and we are thrilled to have received this inspirational match from the Hillman Foundation,” said Executive Director Hilary Van Alsburg.

Grant Opportunities for Small Businesses

Groundswell Capital and the City of Tucson are making a million-dollar investment in upstarting, upskilling, growing, and greening Tucson small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. There are grants for content creators, workforce development, green initiatives for businesses, starting a new business and more!
