BECOP will be highlighting the benefits of Liberating Structures, presented by Kris Hergert, Strategy/Innovation Manager with OSI

Using the simple and practical methods designed by Henri Lipmanowicz and Keith McCandless in "The Surprising Power of Liberating Structures: Simple Rules to Unleash a Culture of Innovation," we will explore several approaches to sparking innovation from within stakeholders, creating space for individuals' contributions to emerge, and for the practice of inclusive leadership to take shape.

Our Office of Operational Strategic Initiatives (OSI) at UC San Diego uses Liberating Structures to enable groups to break free from traditional organizational dialogues, which often involve a single speaker dictating to the audience, or dominant leaders influencing the direction of thought in groups. By selecting one of the 33 different liberaging structures, you can focus the group on a particular perspective, create more collaborative dialogues, and draw out more value from the participants.
