This in-person event is a great opportunity to learn more about Parkinson’s disease, new treatment options, and updates about our center. It will be at the Join us at the UC San Diego Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute (ACTRI) Auditorium and will be a morning filled with learning and networking. Registration is free. Before joining our fellowship program, Dr. Tiffany Duong was a Neurology Resident Physician at the University of Rochester, where she also serves as Rising Clinic Resident Director for the 2025–2026 academic year. She earned her MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and graduated cum laude with a BS in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland.

Dr. Elaine Lu was an adult neurology resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Administrative Chief Resident for 2025. She earned her MD with Research Honors from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and a BS in Neuroscience from UCLA, with a minor in Disability Studies.

UC San Diego’s UTE Imaging Laboratory is recruiting volunteers diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment or a neurodegenerative disease (such as Parkinson’s disease) for a research study investigating how these conditions affect the brain. Participants will complete a 60‑minute brain MRI, a 15‑minute blood draw, and cognitive questionnaires, and may receive up to $150 for completing all study activities. Eligibility requires a qualifying diagnosis, the ability to lie comfortably for about 60 minutes, and the ability to undergo an MRI exam.
