Passwords are a vital part of our online lives, so it’s important to keep them both private and unique. Online services we use each day often fall victim to breaches, exposing sensitive information, including passwords.
Here are some best practices to keep in mind:
Use long, complex passwords with a mix of letters, numbers and symbols.
Consider setting up multi-factor authentication (MFA).
Try a passphrase instead of a password (my dog Sam = mds123@).
Consider using a password manager.
NEVER share your password!
Ensure you have account recovery set up on critical services like your e-mail account and banking website.
