Student Organization of the Month |
This month, SHU Theatre performed the annual Christmas Cabaret of classic yuletide songs at the newly renovated on-campus theatre venue in the University Center. The College of Communication and the Arts produces four main stage shows each year. Mainstage shows are directed by faculty members, visiting professionals and in some special cases, a student may direct a mainstage production under the mentorship of a faculty member.
All students are welcome to participate in SHU Theatre. Students are encouraged to participate in any desired capacity, from producing, directing, acting, designing and/or backstage. In addition, the student organization, Theatre Council, produces its own events.
Interested in Seton Hall Theatre? All students are invited to audition for the annual plays, while any student regardless of major can volunteer to help backstage and in the scene shop. The Theatre Council is also open to all students.

Sofia Kelly ’23, a senior majoring in Public Relations, has just landed a job at Givaudan, the world’s largest manufacturer in flavors, fragrances, and active cosmetics. She credits her courses in Public Relations for helping her qualify for the position at Givaudan.
In addition to her courses in PR, Kelly attributes the interactive exchanges and presentations that were required in her course curriculum, more specifically Professor Terri McAdoo’s Print Advertising class as well as Dr. Jon Radwan’s Dynamics of Human Communication class in giving her the confidence needed during the interviewing process. Kelly notes, “I also especially want to thank Dr. Mary Meehan, who believed in me.”

An internship is a great way to try out a job or industry, even (or especially) if you’re not 100% sure what you want to do after graduation. Either way, it can provide excellent professional experience and skill development opportunities and can help narrow down your career path choices. If you’re interested in summer internships, now is a good time to begin your search. Reach out to your career advisor for assistance with search strategies, your resume, and more.
