Dear Coach,

Happy October! Read on for updates to our events from the Fall Board of Directors meeting and how we’re celebrating Member Appreciation Month!
Events Update » At the recent Board of Directors Meeting, the decision was made to include Program Oral Interpretation and Informative Speaking as main events beginning at the 2017 National Tournament. Thank you to everyone who participated in these events during their pilot year! The Board also decided to establish World Schools Debate as a standing event invitational at Nationals and made the decision to allow each district to field two World Schools teams. We are excited to see these events back on the main stage this year!
Member Appreciation Month » October is all about celebrating you! To show our appreciation, we are giving away a prize to a member every Wednesday on our Facebook page. Be sure to follow us for your chance to win!
Last Chance for Nationals Pictures » If you missed your chance to download pictures from Salt Lake City, we have good news! We've made them available for download again through the end of October. Check them out here!
Vice Presidential Debate Watch Parties » Did you know vice presidential candidates Tim Kaine and Mike Pence are alumni of the Association? Programs across the country are hosting watch parties for the Vice Presidential Debate Tuesday night as these two face off. Check out ways to incorporate the debates in your classroom with our Voices of the Future resources and use #debatingthedebates and #voicesofthefuture on social media to join the conversation on Tuesday! Interested in hosting a future watch party? Email to learn more.

Voting closes October 15 at 4:00 p.m. CT.
