Annual Session Registration for in-person participation will end tomorrow, Saturday, July 18. In just over one week, we will gather together in Frederick and online to conduct the business of our Yearly Meeting - including welcoming our new Presiding Clerk, Ted Heck (Richmond) and saying thank you to our outgoing Presiding Clerk Steph Bean (Adelphi). Come for the business, stay for the fun - including the beloved All Ages Celebration on Friday evening and the popular open mic night on Thursday. Questions about Annual Session? BYM has compiled a list of child abuse awareness trainings as part of our updated Youth Safety Policy. Experts in the field of child safety emphasize the importance of abuse awareness trainings as a key component of any youth safety policy. These trainings help us understand the current reality of child abuse as well as the warning signs of abuse and abusers. Understanding the "why" of having a youth safety policy is a powerful motivator for careful implementation and compliance! In addition to this new resource, BYM will host a workshop at the Annual Session for Monthly Meetings to workshop their own Youth Safety Policies. 

We've heard you loud and clear - the BYM website is confusing, hard to navigate, and outdated. It's time for a professional overhaul! After more than 20 years without a comprehensive update, Stewardship & Finance has recently approved adding one-time funds to the 2027 budget for a professional redesign. The full 2027 budget will come before BYM for approval at Annual Session. The website overhaul will get underway late in 2026, as we select a vendor and begin "end-user consultations" to hear from the many different kinds of website users about the features and content most important to them. 

Friends Meeting of Washington shares two staff vacancies: Administrative Secretary, responsible for the central systems and structures that keep the Meeting running smoothly, and Property/Facilities Manager, a part-time position responsible for the care, maintenance, safety, and overall functionality of the Friends Meeting of Washington (FMW) campus.
