It's been so wonderful to actually see some of you again, even if our faces are half-covered, after countless full moons without that pleasure! One of my favorite things has been to walk around Linda Hall Library grounds for a nice chat with a colleague-friend. It has made the bustle of the new academic year feel a little less chaotic.
In yesterday's student newsletter, we gave some advice on getting involved on campus through events and organizations. Today, I was thinking about how to adapt that to this audience of perhaps overly involved people, who have so many responsibilities pulling us in different directions.
Being present. Connecting with others. Helping support one another in small, intentional ways.
I'm wondering if others would join me in what would be a (hopefully delightful) project, to briefly connect to someone you miss or someone you have always meant to get to know a little better amongst your CAS colleagues.
Next time, I hope to hear all about these interactions.
And, if anyone wants to meet my favorite trees, email me, your colleague and current or future friend, Alicen Lundberg.
