PSU Alumnus Establishes $1M Scholarship to Support Accounting Student Parents

PSU Accounting alumnus Bob Hormel, '62, has made a $1 million estate gift commitment providing scholarships for accounting students with dependent children. “I don’t think I would’ve gone to college if it hadn’t been for PSU,” he says. Hormel is fulfilling his commitment now by giving $100,000 each year for the next 10 years.

BAP Chapter Wins NW Region Competition

Congratulations to Bailey Vetter ('21, Accounting) and Romita Sekar (current MSF/MBA student) for winning 1st place in the NW Region Deloitte Best Practices Competition! They will now compete against the other regional winners at the BAP Annual Meeting in July. Their initiative is to empower community college students to pursue careers in data analytics.

Introducing New Chair and Vice-Chair for Accounting Advisory Board

We are pleased to introduce our new Accounting Advisory Board Chair, Gary Homsley and Vice-Chair, Jim Brown. They will serve in their roles for two-year terms from 2022 through 2023. They will lead the 22-member advisory board that serves to strengthen ties to the region’s accounting community and assist the Accounting and Tax programs in supporting student success.
