Dear Penguin Nation,
As some of you may know, I will be leaving Youngstown State University at the end of the term. Although this transition is a professional move for me, I could not leave this university without letting you know how the past five years has impacted me professionally and personally. Becoming a Penguin in 2015 was truly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The ability to work under the leadership of President Jim Tressel and with the amazing faculty and staff here at YSU is something I will always treasure.
I can only hope that in the short period of time that I’ve spent here I have been able to make a difference. My goal was simple. I wanted to create the best experience for students that was humanly possible. It is my hope that I have been able to make some positive impact on the overall Youngstown State experience for every student that I have had the pleasure of serving. In addition, I would hope that the leadership that I have provided for Student Experience staff and others has helped the University pursue its goals and mission.
Wilma Rudolph stated that, “No one achieves any level of success without the help of others.” This statement is extremely accurate in my case. Any measure of success I’ve had over the past five years has been a direct result of the support of my Vice President colleagues, senior leadership members, loyal staff in the Division of Student Experience and countless faculty members who have taken the time to listen to some of the ideas that I brought to the table.
Thanks for your continued support, well wishes and guidance along the way. As a 2020 alum of Youngstown State University, I will forever be Y & Proud.
Take Care and Go Penguins,
