Penn Dedicates New Laboratory for Sustainable Energy |

Last year marked the hottest in recorded history — a grim reminder that climate change shows no signs of slowing down. Fortunately, Penn Engineers have a new building to accelerate developing solutions, the Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology (VLEST).
“This building is going to be an epicenter where we bring people together from various fields with expertise to address what feels like an existential crisis, not only to those of us in this room, but for the next generation,” said Penn President Larry Jameson at the building’s opening.

Cherie Kagan Receives Heilmeier Award |
Cherie Kagan, Stephen J. Angello Professor in Electrical and Systems Engineering, has been named the recipient of the 2024-25 George H. Heilmeier Faculty Award for Excellence in Research.
