Celebrating the Tallahassee Amazon Robotics Fulfillment Center Grand Opening
|
Big scissors and a bigger win for the local economy! That’s what we’re celebrating as the Amazon Robotics Fulfillment Center ribbon cutting officially marks the birth of the largest recruitment project in Tallahassee-Leon County history.
Before the big moment, Mayor Daily; Leon County Vice Chairman Commissioner Carolyn Cummings; the General Manager of the Amazon Tallahassee facility, Kim Price; and the Global Director of Amazon Career Choice; Tammy Thieman, welcomed the 2.8 million-square-foot facility with high regard for its forthcoming impact.
An inaugural tour showcased 10 miles of conveyor belts, hundreds of robots, and over 40 million items housed in the facility, but its economic impact is the true reason for celebration:
|
- Over 1,000 permanent jobs
- More than $33 million in annual wages
-
$451 million in total economic impact

Stephen Beasley serves as the CEO of the MLK Foundation. The foundation aligns with so much of what Stephen stands for: promoting charity, community, and leadership while also spreading the spirit of community pride and equality embodied by Dr. King. Stephen considers himself blessed as a businessman and person, inspiring him to give back. During his youth, his family stressed the importance of civic engagement. This environment of deeply valuing service and love inspired him to do the same for the youth on the Southside. As a result, he has started three Boy Scouts troops and dedicates his time to mentoring.

Tracey Cohen is the Owner and President of Target Print & Mail, formerly Target Copy. Founded by Mayda Williams in 1982, Target Copy primarily served walk-up traffic and students from the local universities. Over 27 years, Mayda expanded the business into a large commercial printing company with regional clients. In 2009 Tracey purchased Target Copy from Mayda, making it a proud second-generation woman-owned business. With an eye toward growth and expansion, Target Copy acquired two additional entities under Tracey’s leadership: Lithohaus/Mailhaus in 2015 and Modern Mailers in 2016. This sparked the rebrand to Target Print & Mail, reflecting the extension into large-scale commercial printing and direct mailing services. Target Print & Mail has been a community staple for over 40 years.
