Urban Forestry Same Day Permits Available During Permit Center Closure

To obtain Same Day Tree Removal/Replant Permits which can be issued without an on-site inspection, please see the instructions below.


1. Use the City’s online permit portal DevHub to:
  • Submit a complete application, including an uploaded site plan and photographs, and;
  • Pay the accompanying fee through DevHub. (Instructions)
 2. After the application has been submitted and the application fee paid, send an email to trees@portlandoregon.gov.
  • For applications that are complete, and where emails are received before 2:00 pm Monday-Friday, permits may be issued on the same day.
  • If demand exceeds capacity, permit applicants will be contacted with an application status update and estimated issuance date.
  • Urban Forestry reserves the right to limit Same Day Permit issuance at any time.
  • In the subject line of the email please include:
    • IVR number (seven digits)
    • The phrase: Same Day Permit
