Key Reminders for Grant-Funded Awards and Personnel |
Â
Scholarship
If you plan to award student scholarships using grant funds, please notify your Grant Accountant before submitting anything to Financial Aid. Regardless of whether awards go through Scholarship4Kats or Financial Aid, ORA must be included to confirm allowability, funding availability, and documentation.
Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAF)
An EPAF is required whenever faculty, staff, or students stop working on a grant, including when the grant ends. Please select the appropriate action and include Kathy Allen in the approval queue. Submitting EPAFs promptly helps prevent payroll errors and corrections.
Thank you for working with us to ensure these awards are processed smoothly and compliantly!
For help or questions, please contact ORA@shsu.edu.

Student Spotlight: Society for Neuroscience Conference in San Diego, California |
In November, Bobbie Jo Hurt, an undergraduate student had the opportunity to present her research at the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting in San Diego—one of the largest neuroscience conferences in the world, welcoming nearly 20,000 researchers from around the globe.
Throughout the conference, Bobbie Jo attended talks and poster sessions aligned with her research interests and heard from leading scientists during evening presidential lectures on topics ranging from Alzheimer’s disease to sex differences in the brain. She also participated in the graduate school fair, connecting with prospective programs, exploring new opportunities, and engaging directly with faculty from her top-choice school.
"The day I presented my research with my colleague was not only scary, but exciting. It strengthened my ability to communicate professionally and boosted my confidence." she shared. "Being a first generation undergraduate student, having opportunities to present my own research at such a prestigious conference, is truly an honor!"
This experience was made possible through the support of STAPP and the SHSU Psychology Department.
