Your Four Pathways to the High School National Tournament
There are multiple ways to get to Nationals. What path will your students take?
1. Students can qualify in their main event via their district tournament. Students must be districts-eligible, meaning they are NSDA members with a Degree of Merit (at least 25 points in the Honor Society) and have an email address attached to their account. Students who are currently eligible will have a check mark in that column on your team roster. It's peak districts season! Check your tournament dates and prepare to compete.

2. Students can compete in supplementals. Every member school has the opportunity to send two member students to compete in supplemental events at the tournament. Schools and students need not have participated in districts to register, but students must be districts-eligible. This year, students may compete in up to two supplemental speech events based on the pattern.
3. Students can qualify in their main event via the free, online Last-Chance Qualifier. Students must be districts-eligible but do not need to have attended districts to participate; schools must have had at least one entry at districts. Enter up to four of your school’s students in each event (up to six in Big Questions) for a chance to be a top-placing competitor at the Last-Chance Qualifier and earn a spot at the National Tournament! Plus, after each event's qualifiers have been determined, a limited number of additional qualifying opportunities will be available for entries from schools that had no national qualifiers before the Last-Chance Qualifier. Our goal is to give schools who otherwise would not be attending access to National Tournament competition. The Last-Chance Qualifier will be held online on April 27-29. Details and registration »
4. Students can represent their district in World Schools Debate. All districts are allowed to enter up to two teams of three to five students for the National Tournament Invitational. Students must have competed at the district tournament to be eligible for the WS team. Districts may select these students however they'd like.
